CLOS DES BRUSQUIERES CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE ROUGE 2009

CLOS DES BRUSQUIERES CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE ROUGE 2009
Tasting Note :
Made from a slightly different blend (67% Grenache, 32% Syrah and 1% Mourvedre; 95% aged in concrete), the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape possesses a dark ruby color as well as sweet black currant and raspberry fruit intertwined with dusty, loamy soil undertones, and hints of licorice as well as spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied with good density for a 2009, along with a beguiling, up-front fruitiness, it should be drunk over the next 7-8 years. This small estate, owned by the Courtil-Thibaut family, includes some impressive old vine parcels on the high plateau of Brusquieres in the north-central section of Chateauneuf du Pape. A blend of 70% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre and 5% Syrah, the wine is aged in a combination of cement tanks (75%) and barrels (25%).
