Tasting Note :
The second largest wine estate in Germany, Juliusspital was founded in 1576 as a monastery and the main building still functions as a non-profit hospice to this day. This sustainable VDP producer farms mainly Silvaner. This silvaner is farmed from limestone soils with a slope of 45%. The wine is fermented in stainless steel followed by aging for several months on its lees in large neutral oak barrels.
