Tasting Note :
Maison Chapoutier, undoubtedly one of the most prestigious names in the Rhone Valley, produces its most prestigious bottles on the Hermitage appellation. The estate covers 350 hectares of vineyards converted into biodynamics; it is to date the largest vineyard in France to have adopted this mode of cultivation, and this since obtaining the certification in 1999. The know-how Chapoutier also extended to other vineyards: Provence, Beaujolais , Roussillon, Champagne, Alsace, Portugal but also the south of Australia. The family history began in 1808, but it was truly in 1879 that its contours were outlined, when Polydor Chapoutier bought a few hectares of vineyards to become a wine grower and trader. Since then, seven generations have followed one another, until to Michel Chapoutier. Since 1996, all tags are transcribed in Braille. Chapoutier is often the last to harvest his vines, in order to obtain an optimal maturity of the grapes.
