Tasting Note :
The 2013 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux has a little more brightness and vivacity on the nose compared to the Lavaux Saint Jacques. The palate has more body than the Lavaux with a gentle grip. This is quite structured and masculine, a little sappiness coming through on the firm, you might say “stout,” finish that has fine persistency. This is well-crafted, gutsy Champeaux that will repay 2-3 years in the cellar.
